To respect the teaching profession, the work environment must more closely resemble a professional workplace. Teachers should have adequate planning time, be included in school-based policy decisions and supported with the tools of the trade and supplies without forcing them to spend money out of their own pockets
Teachers are best positioned to know what’s working and what’s not in a classroom. Their opinion is invaluable for policy makers at the school, district, state and federal levels. To protect teachers from unfair treatment, experienced teachers should have reasonable job protections and a right to a fair hearing to contest an unwarranted demotion or dismissal.
